All lights on her

(Natalie Portman)

(Cate Blanchett)

(Scarlett Johansson)

(Gwyneth Paltrow)

(Anne Hathaway)

At the Oscars last night, the ladies all had their glamour on for the biggest award show of the year.  Although I have my favorites,  there weren't really any "misses"...kinda of a bummer that everyone played it safe.

Let me just start by saying how happy I was that dear Natalie Portman won the best actress!!  And of course she looked glowing with her baby bump now very visible.  But my top choice is Cate Blanchett with an edgier Givenchy Haute Couture number.  Scarlett Johansson never failed to ooze sensuality and Gwyneth Paltrow is simply stunning.  As for host Anne Hathaway, she managed 9 outfits throughout the night!  However, the Valentino red gown was clearly the winner.

my sanctuary

Just a few random snapshots of my livingroom...like I said earlier, I was bored!  Dont worry about me, tomorrow, I'll be busy watching the Oscars!

bored & lazy

Not sure if I am bored and therefore lazy or I am lazy and therefore bored.  Either way, I didn't bother to get dressed, comb my hair or put on makeup (I almost didn't feel like brushing my teeth!!!).

Having fun doing some "Ayden" poses on my couch while he's asleep.  What do nomal people do on a saturday afternoon?

in my bag...

I just couldn't resist grabbing my camera when I saw my son playing with the clochette of my Bolide.  Next thing you know, I threw him in it!!!  So that's what I have in my bag...

OUTFIT DU JOUR - the Weekender

It's the weekend already (not that it matters so much when you're on mat leave...)!!  And what better time to take out my weekender Bolide!  This use to be my workhorse: perfectly subtle and luxurious to use at meetings with my clients.  I really missed her!  Well, I guess I can use it now occasionally as my diapper bag until I go back to work?!?

Reed Krakoff - a man that understands me

I don't need bling bling; I don't need fireworks.  I consider myself a simple girl in a world where everyone crave for drama girls (gossip magazines anyone?).  So when a man, like Reed Krakoff, understands exactly what I want better than myself, I can't help but to feel in ahh...

Krakoff was the creative director of Coach, but RK's new luxury line has nothing to do with Coach.  In his RK collection, he touches all the subtleties that define understated luxury.  I am currently in love with his Boxer Tote and Boxer Clutch, which features a simple belt strap closure similar to straps used on vintage luggages.  And the combination of colours and textures are beyond perfection.

Auraya Skincare

I recently started a new skincare regime for my combination skin with some first signs of aging (yikes!!).  I was hoping that it's just winter, but these little lines around my mouth, eyes and neck are here to stay...

Recently, I was introduced to Auraya, an organic skincare that uses 100% natural ingredients developped by my cousin Vivi.  I still recall when she first mentioned her line to me and asked if I was into organic products, my initial reply was "no, they're too expensive!".  Haha...I guess I should have displayed a little more elegance in my answer...But to my surprise, her line is actually more affortable than most products I already use!

My favorite products are the Ylang Ylang Sandalwood lotion, Rose and Aloe Facial Toner and the Chamomile Eye Cream.  The Rose Geranium Face Cream feels a little oily on my face but actually gets completely absorbed after a few minutes.  I was also suggested to leave my eye and face cream in the fridge for optimal texture and to extend the shelf life since no preservative has been added.  As for the Gentle Exfoliating Scrub, I have mix feelings: love the gentle texture but not the scent.

What I'm actually even more excited about is the Lil One Cream and Lotion!!!  Which mom doesn't like organic baby products?  I especially LOVE the scent of sweet orange and vanilla in the lotion!  And the cream of perfect for Ayden's dry skin in the winter time.

Auraya is now only available online: http://www.auraya.ca/

OUTFIT DU JOUR - Dark Fantasy

I went shopping with my mom over the weekend and found this black beauty hanging on a sale rack...my heart skipped a beat...Without hesitation, I tried it on and was unable to take it off...so that's what love at first sight feels like!

Did I mention that Emmanuelle Alt (yes, it's official, she's the new editor in chief at Vogue Paris!) was spotted with the same coat?  Anyways, my heart skipped another beat when I handed over my amex...

GIRL CRUSH - Emma Watson

With the Harry Potter franchise done, I'm really loving Emma Watson's new look!  Her pixie hair really accentuates her perfect features and instantly adds star quality to her overall image.

Ah....she reminds me of how careless and optimist I use to be...if only I had the courage and confidence to chop of my hair...

red wine & dark chocolate

Being a new mom means I rarely get alone time with my hubby.  So staying home for dinner tonight was a brilliant idea (not to mention there was a blizzard outside)!  We had our usual favorites: rack of lamb, lobster, red wine and dark chocolate for dessert!

So you probably noticed that I'm not in Lanvin and not in red lips.  I did however get this red silk dress from Le Boudoir and paired it with a vintage heart shaped Moschino belt.  Perfect for our casual dinner at home.  Happy Valentine's everyone!

Taking baths

Valentine's day usually meant spending the day by myself as my husband work in the restaurant business.  This year was the first time we actually celebrated on the day itself!  We sent my son off the grandma and went straight to Scandinave Les Bains in Old Montreal.

This urban spa offers scandinavian baths and hydrotherapy, which helps blood circulation, release of toxins and complete relaxation.  In fact, I almost felt asleep in one of those giant puffs!   To top it off, I was told that we can come back on our birthday free of charge!!!  I like the sound of that!

Grammy Wreck Carpet

(Nicki Minaj)

(Katy Perry)

(Rihanna)

(Jennifer Lopez)

(Lady Gaga)

(Lady Gaga)

(Esperanza Spalding)

I missed the Grammys tonight since we were out for dinner, so obviously went online to see who wore what on the red carpet right after I put my son to bed...and what a train wreck!  Is everyone thinking since Lady Gaga is getting all the media attention lately with her outrageous and controversial outfits that they might as well follow the lead?  Or has the music industry always been a little kookoo?!?  I have to admit I wasn't expecting much from Nicki Minaj, but even my girl Rihanna looks like a giant cotton candy!  And of course, the original Lady Gaga made the biggest entrance by being carried in a giant eggshell.  As for her outfits, I think they were relatively "normal"...

The only one who "wowed" me was Esperanza Spalding, who went home with a Grammy for best new artist.  That yellow chiffon dress and lilac pumps ensemble is so fresh, unexpected and simply beautiful!
